Arizona is a dynamic state, driven by independence and being shaped by many cultures and people that call it home. Vision, courage and hard work have built strong communities and neighborhoods across Arizona. This is our heritage. And, people continue to come and be part of this evolving story. We have our own legacy to build. Or do we? Today, how we manage growth remains our greatest challenge. No doubt, there will be more people, moving to and from more places, more often. The difficulty is trying to play “catch up” as a result of the fast-pace of growth while still planning ahead for future growth. However, if handled with foresight, there are great opportunities for all of us to leave a positive legacy for future generations of Arizonans.
The way we’ll live in the future, is on the line now — Our personal time, our safety, our commutes, our family activities, our recreation choices, our open spaces and environments. Our Arizona lifestyle that we all value hinges upon the decisions we make now. The question is how much of our lifestyle are we willing to give up? And, at what point do we say, enough! Let’s face it, the way we move determines much of the way we live. Do we realize our state’s economy, our competiveness and prosperity, are directly impacted by how we move from place to place? |
